Charity News at Castlefort School!
Here at Castlefort, we try hard to raise money for charities which do such good work. Here’s just some of the fundraising we’ve managed to do in the last two years…
We raised £250.00 for Children in Need 2014 by dressing up as ‘superheroes’ for the day!
Mrs Fletcher organised a ‘dress up and dance’ day for us; we raised £173.60 for McMillan Cancer Support!
Mr Forbes made us run round the playground lots of times! We were tired out at the end but we managed to raise £140.30 for Sports Relief.
We worked hard to fundraise for Barnardo’s, a charity which helps lots of children; our grand total was £107.70!
In 2014, we especially commemorated World War I as it is 100 years since the start of the Great War. By selling poppies in our school, we raised £35.91.
The 2015 Children in Need Appeal raised £250.00 for this very good cause. We had a non-uniform day with a ‘spotty’ theme and we held a cake sale.
The 2015 Poppy Appeal raised £196.60 to help war veterans and their families.
For Comic Relief 2016, Castlefort raised £125.00 to help reduce famine in African countries.
Sports relief 2016, the school raised £137.00 to help vulnerable people in the UK and other poor countries.
