What’s it all about?
The Children’s University is a National Organisation offering children aged 7 to 14 with exciting learning activities and experiences outside normal school hours.
Out of school hours = lunchtime and before/after school clubs.
It celebrates achievement and rewards participation through certificates.
At the heart of its work is the ambition to raise aspirations, boost achievement and foster a love of learning so that all young people can make the most of their abilities and interests.
WCU awards students for their completed learning hours with graduation events held at Walsall wide venues biannually. Previous ceremonies have been held at Walsall Town Hall, Wolverhampton University (Walsall Campus) and Bescot Stadium.
All children involved receive a passport to collect stamps for the activities they have attended, gaining hours towards their first or next award.
Children collect stamps on their passports for hours completed which work towards a certificate.
These certificates are awarded at three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.
There are four levels of certificates: Awards, Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees.
You can achieve Gold at all levels.
