Computing (ICT)

The children at Castlefort are very lucky to have classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards and visualisers to enhance the children’s day to day learning. We also have a full class set of laptops, notebooks and ipads for research, projects and computing lessons.

The new national curriculum for computing has been developed to equip the children with the foundation skills, knowledge and understanding of computing that they will need for the rest of their lives. Through the new programme of study for computing, they will learn how computers and computer systems work, they will design and build programs, develop their ideas using technology and create a range of content. E-safety is also very important to us at Castlefort, and we have recently achieved our E-Safety Mark for the work we do to keep our children safe on-line!   Children learn about E-safety though assemblies, roleplay and discussion, as well as touching upon key aspects each time we use the ICT equipment. We also take part in E-safety day each year.
