Charity News at Castlefort School!

 

Here at Castlefort, we try hard to raise money for charities which do such good work. Here’s just some of the fundraising we’ve managed to do in the last two years…

Charity News 2021

 

In March, Castlefort pupils raised £279.62 for Red Nose Day with a non-uniform day.

 

In May, Castlefort made a donation of £100 to St.Giles Hospice following the sad death of our much loved governor Ange Grandfield MBE.

 

In November, pupils raised £158 for Children in Need.

 

In December, pupils raised £100 for 'Save the Children' on Xmas jumper day!

 

Charity News 2020

 

During the Covid-19 crisis, the school worked closely with the Thomas Project offering support to families in need, for example, art and craft packs for children to enjoy at home during lock-down.

 

In October, Castlefort children raised £150 for the 'MIND' (mental health) charity following a 'wear yellow' day in school.

 

In November, some of our school families currently experiencing financial strain, were able to benefit from donations of food parcels from locally organised groups during these difficult times. 

 

On Friday 13th November, the whole school, pupils and staff, dressed in spots or yellow to celebrate and raise funds for Children in Need. We were delighted to be able to send a cheque for £200 to this amazing and worthwhile charity!

 

Charity News 2019

 

In February 2019, Castlefort children raised £250 for 'The Childrens Society' this day was organised as a way of fundraising for Freya Farmer, a former pupil at Castlefort, who is completing a trek up Mount Everest.

 

In February 2019, Castlefort children raised £125.64 for 'World Book Day'.

 

In March 2019, Castlefort children raised £148.50 for 'Comic Relief'.

 

 

Charity News 2018

 

In March 2018, Castlefort children raised £108.62 for 'World Book Day', this money goes towards helping to purchase books for children in poorer countries.

 

Later that month, Castlefort celebrated 'Sport Relief' and raised £255 to help vulnerable people in the UK and overseas.

 

In July 2018, we had our grand opening of the Castlefort cabin which we opened in memory of Mrs Stanton, we used this day to host a Macmillan coffee morning where we raised £107.52.

 

Children in Need 2018, Castlefort children raised £126.

 

Charity News 2017

 

In February 2017, our children raised £116.00 for Red R - a charity that supports aid workers in disaster zones.

 

£173.00 was raised in March 2017 for Comic Relief to free the world from poverty.

 

To celebrate 'World Book Day', we raised £68.00 for Book Aid, a charity which helps to provide purchase books for children in poor countries.

 

Our McMillan coffee morning, in memory of Mrs Stanton, raised a whopping £453.23 to support this amazing charity!

 

Children in Need in 2017 raised £231 which will fund a range of fantastic projects at home and abroad.

 

Charity News 2016

 

Sports Relief 2016, the school raised £137.00 to help vulnerable people in the UK and further afield in poor countries.

 

March 2016, Castlefort raised £50.00 for World Book Day! The money raised went to a Reading/Book Charity.

 

October 2016, Castlefort raised £101.25 for the 'Roald Dahl Charity', which aims to improve the life of seriously ill children.
