Castlefort Junior Mixed and Infant School

Inspiring Bright Futures Together

Our Mascots

Hi Everyone!

My name's Ned the Knight and I'm Castlefort's new mascot! I built Castlefort JMI back in 1960 and have been protecting the school ever since.

Recently, on a holiday to Norway, I met a lonely, little dragon who was desperate to visit the UK. I told him all about my home, Walsall Wood, and all of the wonderful pupils at Castlefort. He flew me straight home and we are now a famous double act!

At first, Digby was a bit nervous to meet everyone but with a bit of support from me and the children, he is now a lot more courageous! I have taught him to be kind, respectful, ambitious and to the best that he can be! We are all very proud of our new friend.

Hello Boys and Girls (or as we say in Norway - Hallo!),

My name is Digby the Dragon and I was born in the mountains of Norway. A couple of months ago, I met a courageous knight called Ned, who was on an expedition in the Scandinavian mountains.

To be honest, I was feeling a bit sad because my friends had recently left me but Ned cheered me up by telling me about his adventures in England and all of the wonderful children who live in Walsall Wood. Right there and then, I decided to turn my frown upside down and we flew straight to the UK so I could visit this amazing school called Castlefort JMI.

As soon as I arrived, I loved it over here and I have decided to stay and help old Ned look after the school to teach the children a thing or two about the world. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
