British Values
All pupils in our school have a ‘voice’. Everyone is heard and listened to. School Council Representatives and House Captains help to ensure that the views and ideas of pupils are shared with teachers. Pupils have the freedom to make lots of choices during the school day. They can choose how they learn best, what games they want to play, which clubs they want to join and much more. Pupils are encouraged to treat others as they would wish to be treated themselves. Kind and thoughtful behaviour, attitude to learning and achievement are all recognised and rewarded at Castlefort. The six, core British Values are continually promoted through the school’s ethos and expectations, assemblies and lessons. We want our pupils to be aware of their rights and responsibilities as a UK citizen. The school has achieved the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award, silver standard, in recognition of this important area of the curriculum.
